Select your pram and car seat and instantly see whether they are compatible — natively or with an adapter — and which combinations to avoid entirely.
Check Compatibility

Always verify with the manufacturer before purchasing. Compatibility data changes when new models are released. Never assume compatibility based on brand alone — always check that the specific model combination is approved and get a test fit before buying.

Understanding Travel System Compatibility
What Is a Travel System?
A travel system is a combination of a pram or pushchair chassis and an infant car seat that can clip directly onto the chassis without needing a separate carrycot or seat. This allows you to transfer a sleeping baby from car to pram without disturbing them. The car seat clicks onto the chassis using either a native connection or a brand-specific adapter.
Native vs Adapter Compatibility
Native compatibility means the car seat clips directly onto the chassis with no additional parts. Adapter compatibility requires a separate adapter piece (typically £20–£60) that attaches to the chassis first. Both are safe when used correctly with approved combinations. Always use the correct adapter for your specific chassis model — adapters are not universal across model generations.
Why Car Seat Compatibility Changes
When a pram brand releases a new chassis generation, previously compatible car seats may no longer fit — or may require new adapters. Similarly, car seat redesigns can affect how they attach. Always check compatibility for your specific model generation (e.g. Fox 5, not just “Bugaboo Fox”) and verify with the retailer before buying.
Time on the Travel System
Current guidance recommends that babies spend no more than 2 hours at a time in a car seat when used as part of a travel system. The semi-reclined position can restrict breathing in young babies, particularly premature infants or those with breathing difficulties. Flat carrycot time is important for newborns and the car seat should be the exception rather than the primary sleep space.
